Shturman

Privacy Policy

Updated: 28 September 2026

This policy explains what data the Shturman app (Shturman VPN) and the shturmanvpn.com website process, why, and for how long we keep it. In short: we do not collect your browsing history, traffic content or the links you check, and we do not sell data to anyone.

01Who we are

The Shturman app and the shturmanvpn.com website are provided by TURPAN DINING PTY LTD (ABN 69 691 890 838), South Australia, Australia (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the data processing described in this policy.

Contact us about anything data‑related: support@turpandining.com.

02The short version

  • We do not collect or store which sites you open, your traffic content or your DNS queries.
  • Link check runs on your iPhone — links are not sent anywhere.
  • The app has no ads and no third‑party advertising or tracking SDKs, and we do not request the advertising identifier (IDFA).
  • We do not sell data or share it with third parties for their own purposes, and we do not use it for advertising.
  • No sign‑up: the app does not ask for your name, email or phone number.

03What we collect

To make the connection work, the app sends the following to our servers:

  • An anonymous device identifier — a random number created by the app. It is not linked to your name, email or phone number. The same ID is shown in the app (Settings → account card) so that support can find your data.
  • Technical connection data — start and end time, chosen country and server, connection errors, amount of data transferred. No traffic content and no site addresses.
  • Network type (Wi‑Fi or mobile) and app version.
  • Country and carrier, determined from the IP address you connect from.
  • Premium subscription status, if you have one — to give you access to Premium servers. To verify the subscription we receive transaction details from Apple (purchase ID, product, expiry date). Payment details — card number, name, address — are handled by Apple; we never receive them.
  • Support requests — your email address and what you wrote to us; the connection log only if you attach it yourself.

04What we don’t collect

  • which sites and apps you open, or your browsing history;
  • traffic content and DNS queries;
  • links you check in the app;
  • contacts, photos or precise location;
  • the advertising identifier (IDFA).

05Data that stays on your iPhone

  • Link check history — your last 20 checks (verdict, main site address, time). Stored only on the device; you can clear or turn it off in Settings.
  • Connection log — up to 500 entries or 7 days, stored only on the device. It contains no site addresses and no checked links. It is sent to us only if you attach it to a support request yourself.
  • Your chosen theme, country and other settings.

06Why we use data

If you are in the EU or the UK: we process data because it is necessary to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract) and for our legitimate interests in keeping the service working and secure.

  • to establish and maintain the connection and choose a suitable server;
  • to find and fix errors and improve connection quality;
  • to give Premium access to subscribers;
  • to protect the service from abuse (for example, attacks on our servers);
  • to answer support requests.

07Who we share data with

We do not sell data. We share it only with those who help us provide the service, and only as much as they need:

  • hosting providers that run our servers and website;
  • Apple — to process and verify subscriptions (under Apple’s terms);
  • public authorities — only where applicable law requires it, and only to the minimum extent necessary.

Our service providers process data on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.

08Where data is stored

Our servers are located in several countries, so data may be processed outside the country where you are. We protect it the same way wherever it is stored.

09How long we keep data

  • Technical connection data — no longer than 90 days, then deleted or anonymised for aggregate statistics.
  • Subscription status — while the subscription is active and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
  • Support correspondence — no longer than 2 years after your last request.

10How we protect data

Data is transmitted over encrypted channels. Only staff who need it for their work have access, and that access is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we do everything reasonably possible to keep data safe.

11Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete the data linked to your ID. Email support@turpandining.com and include the ID from the app (Settings → account card → Copy). We will reply within 30 days.

If you believe we have breached your rights, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC, oaic.gov.au) or to the data protection authority in your country.

12Children

The app is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

13Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We will tell you about material changes in the app before they take effect.
